As part of the 100 year celebration since Parliament passed a law which allowed the first women, and all men, to vote for the first time a new exhibition has opened in Parliament – ‘Voice & Vote – Women’s Place in Parliament’.
The exhibition, is a rare opportunity to see previously unseen historic objects, pictures and archives from the Parliamentary collections. The exhibition tells the story of women in Parliament, the campaign, the protests and the achievements.
It also includes a wall bearing the name of every woman elected to the House of Commons. The exhibition is well worth a visit and if you are in London I would encourage you to take some time to visit Westminster Hall, in Parliament.
The exhibition runs up to 6 October, is free and is open Monday to Saturday from 9am – 6pm.
