Resource management company Veolia, recently held their National Apprentice and Graduate of the Year Awards 2019 in Parliament. The company, which employs over 300 apprentices, saw Matthew Lowe, who lives in my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency amongst the finalists of their national awards.
I was pleased to be able to join Matthew at the awards ceremony and add my congratulations to him and all of our other fantastic apprentices who make such a magnificent contribution.
Once again it was good to see a local apprentice amongst the handful of national finalists. I was hugely impressed by the real passion and energy that Matthew showed for his role and I wish him continued success in the future. I am a firm believer in the value of apprenticeships and it is good to see companies such as Veolia see the value and benefit they bring to their business.
Apprentices and graduates alike are an integral part of skills development and innovation and are vital in helping us resolve the UK’s skills gap, whilst also providing career opportunities for people of all ages and increasing economic productivity. Congratulations to everyone!
