The Covid-19 vaccination rollout continues at pace delivering more and more vaccines across a broader range of age groups. Over 3,860,237 vaccines have now been administered across the Midlands as we continue to lead the way in the vaccination programme.
In our own local NHS area in The Black Country and West Birmingham we have administered 444,898 vaccines and I was delighted how last week Health Secretary Matt Hancock singled out the work of Walsall and the Manor Hospital of being on the front foot in delivering the programme.
The positive feedback coming from the vaccination centre at Oak Park continues and I would like to reiterate my thanks to everyone working and volunteering for the vaccination programme.
As I have said previously, we appreciate how quickly people want to receive their vaccinations however please do remember, it is really important that as residents we all wait until we are contacted by our GP practice or by the NHS, and that we continue to follow the guidance.
