Since first being elected as your Member of Parliament in May 2015, I have each year, on behalf of local residents, pressed for various Unauthorised Encampments to be moved on and for the subsequent mess to be cleared.

Along with colleagues in the House of Commons I successfully lobbied the Government to make a call for evidence to look to at how our laws might be strengthened to help local councils and the Police to do their work more effectively.

We now have that call for evidence in the form of a public consultation that you as residents may take part in.

Though technical in parts there is the opportunity for you to express your concerns and thoughts on the problem of Unauthorised Encampments. If this is a matter that concerns you, I do urge you to take part and make your feelings known directly to those who will be making the policy decisions that affect our lives.

The consultation is available on line and closes on the 15th June 2018 so there is still time to gather your thoughts and pass them on at:-
