It was great to meet again with local farmers, Ian and Adam, from across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency to hear their concerns about the repercussions of the budget on their farming business.

These farmers represent multi-generational family businesses, with sons, daughters, and grandchildren eager to continue in the farming tradition.

Farmers like Ian and Adam have dedicated their lives to providing high-quality food for our tables.

Understandably our farmers are all deeply concerned that the Family Farm Tax, along with other proposed tax increases, could not only threaten the future of family farming but also significantly jeopardise the viability of British food production. This could lead to food security challenges and result in higher food prices, further driving inflation. I assure you all that I will work relentlessly to combat this assault on our farmers, our rural economy, and our food security.

I also popped into Hayhead Farm Shop and Hayhead Butchers to further show my support for our local farmers. Tomorrow, I will be standing with farmers from up and down the country!
