It has been good to follow the progress at Walsall Manor Hospital and the development of its brand new, state of the art, multi-million pound Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (UECC).

The new Emergency Centre is now up and running and will begin its integration of the A&E, the Acute Medical Unit and later on this year the Paediatric Assessment Unit and Imaging services.

Months and months of hard work by contractors, medical staff and others have gone into designing, building and transitioning staff and patients into the new facility which is a substantial investment into Walsall NHS Trust.

There is also an exciting opportunity being offered to volunteers who want to take on a key role within the new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre too.
Emergency Department Responder Volunteers are being sought to support the transition of services into the new centre and to help patients, their families and carers, including signposting visitors and helping with Friends and Family Test surveys.
