During my recent visit to RED Industries in Brownhills, we discussed an alarming and rapidly growing issue affecting our local area: the drastic rise in discarded nitrous oxide canisters.
This isn’t just an eyesore- it has become a significant and hazardous waste stream. Our hardworking local residents and dedicated litter-picking groups have been raising the exact same concerns. Our green spaces and streets should not be treated as dumping grounds.
I have raised this directly with the Leader of the House of Commons to highlight how serious this situation is for communities right across Aldridge-Brownhills.
I am actively pushing for a parliamentary debate to look at what more the Government can do to support local areas in clearing this waste, and to seek real, lasting answers on how we can tackle the root causes of this problem.
