I recently met with Olivia, Laura, and other local parents to discuss the condition of Walsall Wood Play Park, just off Lichfield Road.
Over the years, the park has suffered from severe flooding from the nearby underpass, especially during heavy downpours. This constant water buildup is rusting play equipment and preventing local children from enjoying the space. We all know how essential outdoor play and physical activity are for our young people’s health and well-being.
Local Councillor Christine Edwards for Aldridge North & Walsall Wood has been working closely with South Staffs Water to clear the underpass and locate the source of a leak that has been exacerbating the flooding issue.
I know how hard Walsall Wood residents are campaigning to collect petition signatures for Cllr Edwards to present to Walsall Council. Together, we want to make sure our community’s voice is heard so the Council looks at what can be done to spruce up the park and make it safer, cleaner, and more attractive for local families.
