I am continuing to keep the pressure on Government to ensure that we protect our precious Green Belt and Open Spaces across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency.

Last weekend I contributed to the BBC Midlands Politics Programme to make the case for a ‘Brownfield First’ development policy in the aftermath of the Black Country Plan being revised at a Walsall Council level.

I raised the importance of a Brownfield First approach in my first Question to the new Prime Minister in Parliament and more recently with the Express and Star with regards to the need to abolish centrally imposed, top-down housing targets.

To be clear – I am ambitious for our local community, and I want us to be a regeneration generation. I am not a ‘nimby’ –  I want to see development in the right places, and I want our Green Belt to be protected for future generations.
