It was a pleasure to be invited along to the Black Country School Games at the end of last week and support all of the participating schools from across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency.
The Games are a great opportunity to engage and enthuse more young people than ever before to participate in high quality school competition, supporting them in achieving their own personal best in sport and life.
I was pleased to be catch up with Games Chairman Billy Downie, and Tim Aldred from the Black Country Consortium Team who organised the event and hear how they organise and manage the games and are increasingly seeking to widen their remit to increase participation in sport across all age groups.
It was great to see schools from right across the Black Country participating in the games. Congratulations to all the competitors and winners.
