As residents from across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency know, our Green Belt and Open Spaces are facing a serious threat with large areas potentially disappearing under new developments.
That is why I am working so closely with local Conservative Councillors to campaign against the current Black Country Plan.
So it was great to be in High Heath this weekend, talking to residents and asking them to sign my petition to ‘Switch the Strategy’ away from Green Belt development and towards Brownfield First development.
The petition is gathering pace from right across the constituency, but we need all local residents to join with me and voice their concerns in the public consultation on the Draft Black Country Plan 2039 (before 5pm on 11th October 2021).
I continue to urge you to comment on the consultation. Further information on the Black Country Plan can be found here: https://blackcountryplan.dudley.gov.uk/t2/p6/
On Thursday 30th September there will be a Drop In Session for the Black Country Plan at Brownhills Community Centre (Between 3pm – 7pm).
There will be a further Drop In Session on Friday 1st October at The Aldridge Compass Suite on The Green (Between 3pm – 7pm). Both of these sessions are being organised by Walsall Borough Council.
If you have time please do pop along to one of these sessions.
