With this year’s Annual Poppy Appeal well underway, this week was a good opportunity to stop by and thank members and volunteers from Aldridge British Legion for the work they do, as I walked through the precinct.
Across the Constituency there are collectors out and about, and many of our local businesses and community groups are also once again supporting the appeal with a donation box.
The new plastic free poppy, launched this year to replace the previous one, was also available at the stall in the precinct.
There are many ways in which you can support this year’s Poppy Appeal – either locally – or via the website: http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/poppy-appeal
The war memorial in the village also looks stunning, decorated with poppies and silhouettes – thank you to everyone involved with this.
