We are very fortunate to have a number of excellent local Hospices in and around our area, and I am hugely grateful and supportive of the work that they do and the services they provide.
Birmingham Hospice cares for about 670 patients a year, and like others, does rely on and appreciate the ongoing generosity of our community to help raise the vital funds it needs. I was pleased to be able to meet up with CEO Paul Bytheway again at their recently opened shop in Aldridge to hear an update on the Hospice sector, and of course to browse the stock in the shop! As ever I can’t resist a jigsaw for Mum!
The shop has an incredibly wide range of well displayed and pre-loved stock from clothing to furniture, books, toys, household bric a brac and so much more and a great team of dedicated staff and volunteers.
I will be continuing to champion the Hospice sector in Parliament, when we return after summer recess.
