I am really pleased to see the Government have announced a funding boost to support vulnerable veterans, so that those who have defended our country are never left behind.
The additional £1 million will specifically help veterans who have become homeless, or at risk of homelessness, so that they receive the support they need.
The additional funding will be shared directly with the West Midlands Combined Authority who will be able to use the funding to provide veterans with bespoke support to navigate their way through civilian life.
Across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency, as indeed across the country, I am very aware of the tremendous sense of pride at the work our Armed Forces undertake to keep us safe as well as assisting with humanitarian operations. Their sense of duty and their professionalism is an example to us all. and it is only right that the Government are seeking to ensure that in civilian life no veteran is left behind.
