Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and I know that from personal experience!
Recently in Parliament, I shared my own story of starting up a business with my husband. Like so many others, we benefited from the Enterprise Allowance Scheme, receiving just £40 a week to help us take those first steps into business.
It wasn’t a huge sum, but it gave us the confidence and support we needed to start. That’s why I understand the challenges facing entrepreneurs and businesses and that’s why I’m passionate about creating the right environment for them to start and grow.
Every successful business starts with someone willing to take a chance. We should be doing everything we can to back those people, encourage innovation and help the next generation of entrepreneurs succeed.
