It was disappointing that due to the poor weather last weekend our local Great British Spring Clean had to be postponed. However, it was a pleasure to join volunteers in Winterley Lane, Rushall on Saturday morning to support their clean up as part of the Keep Britain Tidy Campaign.

Keep Britain Tidy is an excellent initiative and brings together people to clear up litter that blights our local communities. Across Aldridge-Brownhills I know how much residents appreciate our precious green and open spaces and those are many groups and individuals who work quietly and tirelessly as volunteers litter picking and keeping our area tidy.

The Great British Spring Clean is a fantastic opportunity to encourage more people to get outdoors and make a difference, cleaning up the environment on our doorstep and I was delighted to participate. I am also looking forward to joining Royal Air Force Air Cadets1444 (Brownhills) Squadron in Brownhills later this month for their Spring Clean.
