Last week I was pleased to support the Government’s legislation which delivers on the Government’s central commitment to keep our communities safe by reforming the justice system so that we crack down on crime.
Some key new measures in the legislation will increase sentencing for child murderers and lead to tougher sentencing for sex offenders.
At the same time the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill will also strengthen the law to help deal with Unauthorised Traveller Encampments.
Since I was first elected I have campaigned for the law to be changed to prevent repeated traveller incursions across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency so I wholeheartedly welcome these new protections for my constituents.
