Last week we celebrated UK Parliament Week. This is a UK-wide festival, which aims to engage people, especially young people, from different backgrounds and communities, with the UK Parliament and empower them to get involved.
I was delighted that Ryders Hayes Primary School in Pelsall took part in UK Parliament Week this year, and as part of the celebration I was pleased to be able to record my own video message for the students.
The school held their own election for Years 5 and 6 in which the children had their first taste of electoral participation.
It was great to see the children having so much fun in participating and I hope that next year more schools from across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency will be able to participate.
