It was good to catch up recently with Superintendent Andy Parsons and discuss a range of policing matters that affect my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency, whilst also acknowledging and thanking them for the important role they are playing during the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the last election I stood on a manifesto commitment to tackle crime by recruiting 20,000 more police officers UK wide and I am pleased to note that to date this has resulted in a further 357 new police officers being recruited in the West Midlands.
It is important to me that we have more police officers on our streets and in our communities to help protect the public and tackle crime at a local neighbourhood level.
