Lodge Farm Public Meeting

Earlier this evening, I joined local residents at the public meeting at Aldridge Social Club to discuss the alarming scale of proposed housing developments around Aldridge, and in particular the proposal for up to 500 new homes at Lodge Farm on Bosty Lane.

With sites for over 2,000 proposed new homes identified so far I am clear there are fundamental concerns that can not be ignored.

The so called “hybrid” proposals at Bosty Lane would lead to the permanent loss of our precious Green Belt and represent a serious and inappropriate incursion into Green Belt.

From the increased pressure on our roads to the serious environmental impact, these plans must be stopped.

We must act together to build the strongest possible case to protect our green spaces and prevent urban sprawl from merging our communities into suburbs of a Greater Birmingham.

Thank you to everyone that braved the awful weather to come along to the meeting.
