I am delighted that the Government has identified the Borough of Walsall for investment, support and action that helps children from all backgrounds. The investment will help to fund: –
• Retention payments to schools to keep the best teachers in the highest priority subjects.
• To better understand the skills gaps and establishing a new Future Skills Unit which will look at the data and evidence of where skills gaps exist.
• Ensuring talented children from disadvantaged backgrounds have access to the highest standard of education.
• Thousands more adults will soon be able to access free, flexible training and get the skills needed to secure careers in sectors including green, digital and construction as part of up to an additional £550 million boost to expand the popular Skills Bootcamps across the country.
As part of our levelling up agenda, we are ensuring that talented children right across Aldridge-Brownhills will have unprecedented access to the highest standard of education.
