Since before Christmas I have been working with residents, the Environment Agency and Walsall Council with regards to the odour problem at Highfields Landfill Site between Shelfield and Walsall Wood.
At the end of last week, I met with site operatives Enovert to discuss this matter and the action plan that they were implementing in conjunction with the Environment Agency.
We are all aware that this matter remains work in progress as opposed to being resolved, but through partnership working between all the respective agencies there is a commitment to resolve this matter at the earliest opportunity.
I will continue to press for resolution of this matter and work with residents, Councillors, operators and statutory agencies to ensure that this happens.
