Later today the Chancellor of the Exchequer will deliver his fiscal statement.

Throughout the course of the last few weeks, I have been contacted by a number of my constituents from across Aldridge-Brownhills with regards to the Triple Lock and the uprating of benefits in the next financial year.

Let me be quite clear, whilst we have to be fiscally responsible, I will not support an end to the Triple Lock for pensioners and I expect the Chancellor of the Exchequer to increase benefits by inflation to help both vulnerable groups at this difficult time.

In 2019 I stood on a manifesto commitment to protect pensioners in my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency, and I will ensure that I fulfil that commitment to them all.
