There was more great news for Aldridge-Brownhills this week with the announcement that The Streetly Academy has received the green light to receive a share of funding to help refurbish and repair school buildings and boost the condition of the school estate.
Streetly Academy is one of 859 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools to receive a share of a £456 million funding pot to help refurbish and repair school buildings.
The funding will ensure that students can learn in safe, warm and energy efficient classrooms and that every pupil has access to high-quality learning facilities. These funding allocations will make sure that responsible bodies can start to plan ahead and get projects started to replace roofs, boilers and windows – so pupils and teachers can learn and work in a comfortable space.
This is good news for Mr Downie and his team at Streetly Academy.
