It was great to call into Turners Wood Nature Reserve in Pelsall recently as part of the Open Day for the City Nature Challenge.
The City Nature Challenge 2023 was spread across 4 days and 400 cities worldwide and sought to see how many wild species we could see on our doorstep.
Our hidden gem just off Pelsall Common, Turners Wood, is a spinney of Oak, Scots Pine, Holly and Rowan which has been a part of Pelsall for at least 170 years.
It was good to meet Jacob Williams, Senior Reserves Officer, to hear more about their work and the varieties of wild species spotted in the Wood.
