For those of us who love canal boats and waterways last weekend was a great time to be in Brownhills.
After a year in which so many events were unable to happen I was so pleased that the Festival was able to return. Judging by the number of people I saw and spoke to at the canal side, and the stallholders, we were all delighted to be there and to see so many canal boats take part too.
It was good to catch up with Prof Gatrad of WASUP too and to be able to pop by the Backyard Brewhouse.
The 2021 Brownhills Canal Festival was organised by The Lichfield & Hatherton Canal Restoration Trust and provided a great weekend of entertainment, trade boats, stalls and boat trips.
It was good to see the canal side and the town buzzing with activity.
The organisers deserve our thanks for organising the festival and I certainly hope we can look forward to this becoming a regular event again.
