Budding entrepreneurs have been given a boost from the Government as new figures reveal that more than 32,000 people across the West Midlands have been helped by The New Enterprise Allowance programme.

The new scheme specifically helps unemployed people to start-up their own business. Since being introduced in 2011, 32,810 people have been helped by the programme across the West Midlands. The new scheme is proving a great success and is helping many budding new business people. Our country has a fantastic history of producing some of the most successful business people in the world. However to carry on this trend it’s vitally important that we continue to nurture future talent, something which this scheme is helping to do.

Across Aldridge-Brownhills we have some great local businesses and shops at the heart of our High Streets, Village Centres and Industrial Estates, but I’m sure there are so many more people out there who also have an idea for their own start-up businesses, The New Enterprise Allowance programme is there to be able to offer that help and assistance and I would urge people to consider it and get involved.

Many years ago we started our family business thanks to the then Enterprise Allowance scheme – I know what a difference it makes
