I recently attended a fantastic Armed Forces Community Network event, brilliantly organised by local veteran Lee Chapman. It was genuinely encouraging to see the support from our local council and dedicated volunteers.
However, something I learned afterwards really struck me: there’s currently no official system to automatically record and publish veterans’ suicides in the UK. This is a critical gap.
I know Lee has launched a vital petition (you can find the link in the comments), and I’ve since taken this directly to Parliament, asking the Minister to investigate what action can be taken. We need to ensure every veteran’s life is counted and understood.
