Yet again, I have challenged the decision to scrap the Aldridge Train Station. Despite clear local support and demand, our station has been pushed into the sidings. 🚉
Under the previous Mayor, Andy Street, the land was secured and the funding was there. This project was ready to go! Now, under the new Labour Mayor and Government, those priorities have shifted, and our secured funding is being diverted to the Mayor’s pet projects.
Aldridge Train Station didn’t fail its business case – it fell victim to a political decision.
