As Britain fell silent on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month we once again as a nation came together in an act of Remembrance to honour those who have paid the price for our freedom.
It was once again a pleasure to be invited to join staff and students at Brownhills School for their Act of Remembrance. It was a very poignant morning, with thought provoking poems and the distinguished sound of the “Last Post” in which the students with thoughtful respect and reverence remembered all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
On Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in Aldridge I was once again honoured to lay a wreath and, later in the day to attend the parade and service at St John’s Church in Walsall Wood.
Across the constituency, individuals, volunteers and community groups, the uniformed services, the scouts, guiding groups and many other local organisations came together alongside the Royal British Legion and veterans for Remembrance Sunday. Lest we forget.
