I was delighted to join forces last week in Aldridge with the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Apprenticeships, Stratford MP Nadhim Zahawi.
Since 2010 over 4000 apprenticeships have been started across my constituency and I am keen to see more, so that young people are able to earn and learn, and gain skills locally, and so that our local businesses can benefit too.
I was keen that Nadhim could hear from our local business community and we had representatives from manufacturing, horticulture and engineering at the breakfast meeting as well as retail and service industries. We were able to hear more about what the Government is doing and how apprenticeships can provide the next skilled generation of business workforce.
All in all we had a really good discussion, and a “Simply Delicious” breakfast!
