It has been a “Blooming” week in the constituency with both Aldridge and Brownhills securing Gold in the Royal Horticultural Society’s Heart of England in Bloom awards ceremony on Thursday. For many months volunteer gardeners, together with the district centre manager and local businesses have been working tirelessly to create the stunning floral displays we have all enjoyed this summer and to keep the place looking tidy. Their enthusiasm, hardwork and commitment has been rightly recognised. Thank you everyone who has been a part of this.
Aldridge now goes forward to the National Final next year.
On Saturday there was more community gardening activity with the Aldridge in Bloom World record bulb planting attempt. Alas the record was not broken, but it was good fun to be part of this community effort, knowing that next spring we will all see the colourful blooms on The Croft.
