I am always inspired and enthused by the many volunteers and the work they do across my constituency. So I was delighted to read about a new campaign that has been launched by the West Midlands Lieutenancy, inviting people from across the region to nominate a volunteer who is making an impact in their local community.
The campaign – 50forWM50 is supported by United by 2022 the Official charity of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
A judging panel will select 50 volunteers from the nominations from each of the seven local authorities in the West Midlands, and they will be invited to join a “Big Thank You Bash” in June. These 350 volunteers will be narrowed down to just 50 and from that a single volunteer will be chosen and will have a tram on the West Midlands Metro named in their honour.
Knowing of the many wonderful volunteers we have locally – it’s time to start nominating!
Nominations can be made from March to April via the United by 2022 website. Here is the link: https://www.unitedby2022.com/50forwm50/
