I will continue to raise the importance of protecting our precious green belt, and to stand up and defend the benefit that it brings to local residents and communities.
Recently, I had the opportunity to raise this with the Minister once again in the House of Commons. I remain clear that whilst we do need homes, they must be in the right place, and we must not simply be subsumed into a suburb of a Greater Birmingham.
I am pleased that in his response the Minister confirmed that the duty to cooperate with neighbouring authorities has been removed.
