| I am always happy to bang the drum for British farming and highlight the important contribution to the economy, jobs, the environment and communities that farming, and the food and drinks industry make.
Events in the last few years have shown us how important it is to have a resilient farming sector, producing quality food for both home and abroad. Food security must remain a top priority for this Government and I want to see DEFRA not just working more closely with the National Farmers Union (NFU) but also championing the pioneering role our Farmers make on a day to day basis. I am always pleased to support the NFU and our farming industry and I will continue to champion their achievements and take pride in the very valuable contribution they give to our local area and our wider economy. |
