What a Commonwealth Games!
The Birmingham Commonwealth Games was a sporting spectacular that will inspire a new generation of athletes and leave a lasting legacy here in the West Midlands and beyond.
I was particularly fortunate to be able to attend both a swimming event and the closing ceremony. The sense of pride and support was tremendous.
I would like to thank Birmingham, the athletes, officials, volunteers, and mayor Andy Street for making it such a success.
