I am delighted to have been included in a book titled, ‘Honourable Ladies’.
The double volume book contains biographies of the 491 woman MPs who have served since the first female was elected in 1918, and all of the contributions were written by women.
I am incredibly fortunate that Sylvia Crookes, a Wensleydale journalist from North Yorkshire, wrote my contribution in the book.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of the book, and the last two decades have seen more women stepping up to stand for Parliament to readdress the gender balance, which exists in the House of Commons.
There are now a wide range of women standing for a wide range of parties from across the political spectrum and the most recent general election has led to a further increase in female representation in the House of Commons.
It was a pleasure to take part in this book and I would like to thank Sylvia for writing my contribution.
