I had a great time at the Huddlesford Heritage Gathering last Saturday and it was a good opportunity to meet up with the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust, and talk about all things Canals, especially their plans and ambitions for the future.
The work of the LHCRT is only made possible because of the considerable support from volunteers who work tirelessly to preserve this important part of our heritage and enhance it for the benefit of a new generation of enthusiasts. It was therefore good to hear more about their recent success as a winner of the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.
