The Chancellor’s recent Spending Round will mean from next April there will be an additional £2.6 billion for education and over the course of the next 3-years that will rise to £7.1 billion.
This is great news for schools across Aldridge-Brownhills as all of our schools will benefit from these resources, but I am particularly pleased to see significant gains for the lowest funded schools including several across our local area. This funding commitment will ensure every secondary school receives at least £5,000 per pupil, and every primary school at least £3,750 per pupil next year.
The new money for schools is also backed with an additional £700 million for special educational needs and a further £400 million of spending on 16-19-year-old education.
The balanced approach that the Government have taken to rebuilding the economy means that we can now start to spend more on your priorities.
