Economic data continues to show unemployment is consistently at a 40-year low and is less than 2% across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency. Public Sector Borrowing is continuing to fall and is at its lowest level since 2005, there is also improved economic growth and we now have the highest number of first-time buyers for more than a decade.
As we prepare for Brexit it is important that we listen to the small businesses and manufacturers who are helping to drive the economic growth, job creation and wage security across the West Midlands.
So I am keen to hear from businesses across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency and would be delighted if they would join me for my Annual Aldridge-Brownhills Constituency Business Breakfast on Friday 2 November. I am also pleased that we are going to be joined by our West Midlands Mayor Andy Street.
I would like to hear from businesses across my constituency to ensure we build upon our recent economic successes and continue to build an economy fit for the future and that is match fit for Brexit.
