I was delighted to hold my Annual Aldridge-Brownhills Constituency Business Breakfast courtesy of Laserform on Northgate.
An important part of my role as your Member of Parliament is to get out and about across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency and listen to our business community to ensure that they have the tools to get on with the job and flourish.
Recent economic figures have shown that unemployment is at a new 40-year low and is only 2% in my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency, Public Sector Borrowing is at its lowest level since 2000, there is improved economic growth and we now have the highest number of first time buyers for more than a decade.
As we prepare for Brexit it is more important than ever that we listen to the small businesses and manufacturers who are helping to drive the economic growth, job creation and wage security across the West Midlands.
Throughout my discussions with business representatives they welcomed the Prime Minister’s recent Mansion House speech which set out an ambitious and serious vision for our future economic partnership with the European Union.
My Annual Aldridge-Brownhills Business Breakfast was another great opportunity to meet the local business community and I appreciated their time and their views.
