The final Christmas preparations are underway as my family and friends start to assemble for Christmas 2017.
Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, enjoy the festivities of the season and spend time with our loved ones. It is also a time to pause for a moment and reflect: to remember those who are elderly, unwell or alone at Christmas, and those less fortunate than ourselves: to acknowledge the service and dedication of our Armed Forces and the brave work of the men and women who work tirelessly to keep us safe and secure. Those who work around the clock, including Christmas Day and New Year to provide life-saving healthcare, policing, fire and rescue, and emergency services for us all.
It has been once again a privilege to serve as your Member of Parliament throughout 2017 and let me take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year.
