With the Christmas decorations packed away for another year, it was time to take my Christmas cards to be recycled and what better local cause than St Giles Hospice, made even easier with a collection point at their shop here in Aldridge Village. If you still have cards to recycle I would recommend you consider donating them and supporting our local hospice and the terrific work they do.
After catching up on constituency matters and casework, my first meeting of the New Year was with local manufacturer Imperial Bathrooms in Aldridge, and the British Ceramic Confederation, to discuss the importance of British manufacturing and the ceramics industry, as well as the impact of Brexit. It was a fascinating visit seeing the production line from concept through to finished product and I am grateful to the team who showed us round.
Next stop on Friday was to Aldridge Fire Station, following the incident earlier in the week at the old Oak Park leisure centre. A chance too for a chat about the work they do in the community focussing on safety, prevention and well being and a chance to say thank you.
Monday morning and it’s back to Parliament.
