With Christmas just around corner, that means Christmas Tree Festivals and this year I was once again impressed by the wonderful ideas and creativity displayed by so many of our local schools, uniform-groups, organisations, community groups and businesses, and not forgetting Aldridge fire station too. From Jack and the Beanstalk themed trees from the Aldridge Youth Theatre, to fairies from Wheats Garden Centre, and even a dog themed tree from Streetly Vets, they were all superb.
Aldridge Methodist Church had over 50 trees and were fundraising for Rosie’s Helping Hands as well as Walsall St Giles Hospice with their event running across 3 days with entertainment, music and even a Christmas Tree Service. Meanwhile at All Saints in Streetly their Christmas Tree Festival was as magical as last year with twinkling lights and glittering trees, and ended with a Victorian Carol Service and funds raised for a number of local charities.
Events such as these take a lot of organising, and our thanks must go to all those who were involved, as well as everyone who decorated a tree and participated in this years festivals.
I need to start thinking about ideas again for next year!!
