It was a real pleasure attending the 20th-anniversary celebrations of the Brownhills Miner over the weekend, organised by Jan and her incredible team at the Brownhills Community Centre and The Lamp.
As a community we came together not only to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of ‘Jigger’, but to honour our local heritage, history, and the deep civic pride we all share.
It was lovely to see the three new flagpoles in position too, standing high and proud behind ‘Jigger’ – a wonderful symbol of our community spirit.
If you have the chance, do drop by the Brownhills Community Library to check out ‘The Changing Face of Brownhills High Street’ exhibition, which displays a fascinating range of old photos from the 1900s to the 1990s, alongside the Illustrated Talk of The Grove Colliery Disaster on 20th May 13:30 to 14:00. The exhibition runs until 30th May.
