Pubs aren’t just businesses. They’re part of the lifeblood of communities across Aldridge-Brownhills.But right now, too many are being priced out of existence – Labour’s tax on jobs, rising energy costs and a brutal increase in business rates are hitting pubs hard. For many, an average 76% rise in rates is unsustainable.
When pubs needed support during Covid, Conservatives stepped in with rate relief. And we would go further – by abolishing business rates for thousands of pubs, helping them keep their doors open, protect jobs and continue serving their communities.
Strong pubs mean strong high streets, boosting local jobs and local growth.
