The Government has announced an extra £220 million to relieve congestion on the Strategic Road Network of which  £1.3 million has been allocated for improving the junction of the A5 and Chase Road in Brownhills.

Wendy Morton MP said: “I am pleased that the Government is prioritising work at the junction of the A5 and Chase Road/A5195. I know how frustrating sitting in traffic at this junction can be so the additional £1.3 million that the Government have allocated to relieve congestion is a welcome investment. This work will make a positive difference not only to those who use the A5 but to those who live and work in and around Brownhills.”

Highways England will be undertaking more rigorous analysis of the proposed schemes in the coming months and the majority of work is anticipated to take place over the course of this parliament.
