I had a wonderful evening at the Aldridge Poppy Concert, that ended with us all joining together to sing Land of Hope and Glory and Sweet Caroline.
This was all thanks to the hard work and generosity of Aldridge Methodist Church for hosting the event, Aldridge British Legion, 425 Aldridge Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets , and The Rotary Club of Aldridge for organising, and of course – the musical talent of Shelfield Male Voice Choir, together with Lesley & Michael Gainford, – and Jack from Aldridge School for superbly playing the Reveille.
We were also joined by Mayor of Walsall Cllr Chris Towe.
It was a really enjoyable evening, and – importantly – it was also part of local fundraising for the RBL Poppy Appeal to support Bereaved Families, Wounded Service Men & Women, and Veterans Live-On.
