Last week the Government announced the new Tackling Domestic Abuse Plan – investing £230 million over three years to support victims and tackle the perpetrators of these crimes.

The plan includes the creation of a new register of offenders, an expansion of the ‘Ask for Ani’ Scheme, £140 million for supporting victims, and over £81 million to tackle perpetrators.

These plans will take the onus off victims and make it easier for them to access the support they need, while taking tough action against perpetrators. Building on the ongoing work from when I was at the Ministry of Justice, I am pleased to see these measures come into force and offer protection and support for all victims.
