On Saturday I attended the Mayor of Walsall’s St George’s Day celebration at Pelsall Community Centre.

It was a wonderful evening of fantastic entertainment which was superbly provided by the The Staffordshire Band and Pelsall ladies Choir in support the Mayor’s three local charities –

Well Wishers – Well Wishers support the work of Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust – Walsall Manor Hospital and Community Health by helping to fund equipment and resources and help patients and their families

Walsall Community Network- this is a group of 15 Community Associations, who support local residents – Mayor’s Appeal will specifically support befriending and well-being and it was a pleasure to see the Chair of the Network, Jan Davies, at the event.

Community First Responders – an organisation run by volunteers to attend appropriate emergency calls in their own community.

The event brought together two fabulous local groups to raise well-earned funds for these charitable causes.

I was delighted to see so many people at the event and congratulations to Councillor Garry Perry and other members of the Mayoral Charities Organising Committee. Also a kind thank you to the volunteers at the Pelsall Community Centre.

It was a superb evening!
